| The Saville Center is the Child Advocacy
Center for Payne County, Oklahoma.
|
 |
 |
 |
Our purpose:
To coordinate team investigations of child abuse.
The Saville Center coordinates the Child Abuse Response, Evaluation and
Support Team, or CARES Team, a group of child abuse professionals, including
law enforcement, DHS Child Protective Services, mental health professionals,
medical professionals and the office of the District Attorney. The CARES Team
comes together at The Saville Center to share information and utilize a team
approach to child abuse investigations, ensuring that children’s needs are
being met.
|
 |
Our mission:
To reduce the trauma of abused children.
The Saville Center provides a warm and caring environment where an abused
child can feel safe and comfortable telling his or her story. The Saville
Center uses trained forensic interview specialists, one-way mirrors and
multiple cameras to record forensic interviews in a centralized home-like
setting, rather than the child being taken from agency to agency. As the child
abuse investigators work together, resources can be utilized more efficiently,
reducing the number of interviews and avoiding further trauma to the child.
